Spring Upcycle Bag Sewing Tuesdays 4:00- 5:30

$560.00

Starting April 22nd

In this 8 week course kids, ages 9-12, will use a combination of upcycled and new materials to create pouches and bags. The kids will repurpose old t-shirts, denim, sheeting, packaging, and other materials to use in combination with new materials. The kids will also reclaim old hardware and straps from old bags to re-use.

The course is well suited to beginners or those with prior sewing experience. The course will include a basic intro to the sewing machine, including how to thread the machine, sew a straight seam, turn corners, and backstitch. The course will also include an introduction to the basics of bag making including bag construction, zipper installation, the use of stabilizers, and the use of the rivet press.

Kids will leave this course with the experience and confidence to use reclaimed materials in their sewing at home.

Each child will be assigned their own computerized Brother machine to use for the class. All materials are provided.
